Protocols for 2020-2021 for students and faculty
NAB will follow the Rhode Island Guidance for Gyms and Fitness Centers. We will monitor and adjust protocols/classes if the pandemic changes course. If you would like to view the guidelines on reopeningRI click HERE.
If you are feeling sick or have any symptoms, please stay home.
Parents/guardians are not allowed in the 3 Charles Street studios unless there is an emergency. There will be staff members available to help your dancer.
Bring your own lidded water and keep personal belongings to a minimum. Belongings will stay with the student at all times.
Wear a mask the entire time you are in the building.
Please keep six feet apart as you enter the building, there are tape markings on the floor and stairs to help guide you.
Wait to have your temperature taken and verbal symptom check at the front desk.
Sanitize your hands.
Remove street shoes and keep them in waiting area.
Proceed directly to the studio using the hallway.
Changing rooms are closed. Please come already in dance attire.
There is a bathroom designated for each studio.
During class, students will remain six feet apart at all times. There are tape markings on the barres and floor and the teacher will help facilitate.
The studios will be sanitized between each class. Commonly touched surfaces and restrooms will be sanitized as well. We have built time into our schedule to accommodate this.
Students will be dismissed in a staggered fashion. A staff member will assist dancers to thier cars.
Creative movement classes will be taught as a parent partnered class. Parents will be in class with their child to help make sure they are able to wear a mask, be distanced, and assist them in and out of the building. The teacher and class assistant will help direct parents so that this is an enjoyable and stress-free time with your child. Parents do not need to dance. As students become accustomed to new protocols, we will do our best to phase out the need of the parent during class.
Parents or guardians of students in pre ballet and ballet 1 A/B are encouraged to stay during class in case their child needs assistance. There will be socially distanced seating provided.
If a teacher is sick, or if need be, classes will be conducted on ZOOM.
If your dancer is exposed to Covid-19, please let us know. We will inform classmates and teachers of a potential anonymous case so that families can choose appropriate action for thier families.
If there were to be a positive Covid-19 case, we will do a deep clean of the building, sanitize, and if needed close for 24 hours to 14 days. In the meantime, class will be conducted on ZOOM.
Some classes may be capped at a certain enrollment to provide enough space for social distancing. If enrollment exceeds this number, we will make the class hybrid and have students on a rotating schedule of in studio lessons and ZOOM.
We understand that some families will not feel comfortable or be able to return in person. If you do not see a virtual option for the level desired, please contact us via email and we will try to find a solution for you.
